What Is DHA?

DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) is an omega-3 fatty acid, a type of polyunsaturated fat. In our diets, it comes mainly from oily fish such as salmon, mackerel, sardines and herring.

Fish make very little DHA themselves. They are bioaccumulators: they build it up in their bodies by eating algae, or smaller fish that have eaten algae. So the DHA in fish oil ultimately comes from algae. This product uses algae oil directly, a vegan source of omega-3.
