Why Choose the Vessel Craftsman Series?

Most 510 batteries are made to be functional rather than beautiful. The Craftsman is the exception: its real wooden body gives it the look and feel of a fine writing pen, making it a battery you'll be pleased to take out of your pocket. Underneath the classic finish, it has everything you need day to day, with four voltage settings (three of them within the 3.2V maximum our cartridge manufacturers recommend), clear LED indicators and Vessel's smooth airflow. Compared with the Vessel Core, which shares the same controls and voltage settings, the Craftsman adds a real wood finish, a slightly larger 300mAh battery and magnetic charging, while the Core offers bold colourways, USB-C charging and a wide crown for larger cartridges. The Craftsman doesn't have a preheat, so if you use very thick oils such as rosin, a battery with preheat like the CCELL M4B Pro or CCELL Kap may suit you better.

Caring for Your 510 Battery

These are general, basic care tips suitable for most 510 batteries. Your device manufacturer's own care instructions may differ, always refer to the instructions supplied with your device where the two don't match.

• Periodically unscrew the cartridge, even if you're not swapping it, cartridges can occasionally seize in the thread over time if left in place for long periods.
• Wipe the connection threads and centre pin with an IPA wipe every so often, oil residue and dust here can cause weak vapour production or a battery that won't fire properly.
• This device has no preheat function, so take a couple of short, gentle puffs before your main draw to help thicker oil flow smoothly.
• Storing the device upright where possible helps prevent oil pooling into the mouthpiece, though there's no need to worry if this isn't always practical.
• Avoid extreme temperature and pressure changes (for example, a hot car or a flight), these can affect oil viscosity and lead to leaks.
• Don't overtighten the cartridge when attaching it, this can damage the seal and make it harder to remove later.
• Handle with care, avoid dropping or excessive shaking, which can disrupt internal seals.

For the Craftsman specifically: the wooden body is a natural material, so wipe it with a soft, dry cloth only and keep IPA wipes and other cleaning products to the metal connection. Avoid soaking the battery or leaving it somewhere damp or very hot, as moisture and heat can affect the wood over time.
